We couldn't be more excited to share that the Six Nations Wine Challenge has awarded St Leonards Vineyard a DOUBLE GOLD for our 2015 St Leonards Vineyard Durif.

Durif is an alternative variety that has grown in the Wahgunyah / Rutherglen region for over 80 years and is considered a regional speciality and sought by wine collectors.

St Leonards Vineyard ‘Double Gold’ medal Durif was awarded by a panel of internationally acclaimed wine judges at the Six Nations Wine Challenge, Bob Campbell MW (NZ), Huon Hooke (AUS), Christopher Waters (CAN), Michael Fridjon (SA), Patrick Cominsky (USA) and Eduardo Brethauer (CHL).

“Our premium Durif from a single vineyard site at St Leonards Vineyard is commanding international recognition. We are extremely proud of the quality of the wines that can be produced at this small site on the Murray River, and also of the long heritage of St Leonards Vineyard." says Nicholas Brown, Winemaker, St Leonards Vineyard.

Eliza, Angela and Nicholas Brown all share the vision of producing outstanding premium table wines including their roles as custodians of unique and historic winemaking sites. They believe that innovation, youthful desire, sustainability, a healthy respect for traditional winemaking and a talented team of people are the key to delivering that vision.
