"WANT a world-class muscat? Look no further than Rutherglen.

That might be no secret to locals, but now the rest of the globe knows it’s the place to go for a dessert drop after All Saints Estate took out three international gold medals.

The awards were announced yesterday by international wine magazine Decanter, and All Saints’ Eliza Brown couldn’t be prouder.

“Getting international attention for our wines is pretty exciting and getting not just one gold, but three, is even more so,” she said.

The gold medals were awarded to the winery’s “Rutherglen” muscat (aged eight years); the “grand” muscat (aged 20 years); and the “rare” muscat, aged an average 50 years.

Ms Brown said the grand and rare muscats in particular had very rich flavours that “can’t be emulated anywhere else in the world”.

“For us (in the Rutherglen wine region) we’re a relatively small group, so getting this sort of attention here is fantastic,” she said.

“We are extremely proud of the history and heritage of these wines.”

The Rutherglen wine region is hosting international visitors this week as part of a Victorian government trade tour."
