Spring is all about planning spring flings with your friends and family! It’s the time to enjoy those warmer, sunnier and longer days. Whether it’s for a boozy brunch, long lunch or happy hour cocktails, these tips for spring entertaining will keep you busy all season.

1.  Kick things off with a sip-spritz cocktail

Spring is the season for spritz! Using theSt Leonards Vineyard Hip Sip Tawny, this cheeky little cocktail is the perfect way to welcome guests to your house.

Ingredients

45 ml Hip Sip Tawny

60 ml Prosecco

60 ml lemonade

15 ml pomegranate and lime syrup

2 chopped strawberries

2 slices of orange

Sprig of mint

Method

1.     Grab a large wine glass and fill with ice and the fruit.

2.     Leaving the Prosecco until last, pour all the ingredients directly in and give a stir.

3.     Finish it off with the sprig of mint.

2.  Serve a dreamy cheese platter

Grazing your way through the afternoon is the perfect way to catch up with friends, and we’ve put together a selection of our favourite local produce items so you can curate a dreamy cheese platter.

Milawa Cheese Co. King River Gold

The King River Gold is a soft cow’s milk cheese and a great introduction to the washed rind style. The rich, almost smoky, nutty flavour is truly delicious!

Mount Ophir Estate Olives

Sourced from the olive grove at our Mount Ophir Estate, these olives are marinated and ready to enjoy.

Riverina Grove Pickled Onions

Pickled onions with a difference, these are infused with a chilli and spice mix, making them a perfect pairing for sharp Cheddar cheese.

Rolada Fig & Walnut

Produced with prunes, honey, figs and walnuts, these rolls of decadent condensed dried fruit are wonderfully sweet and work really well with the saltiness of the cheese on your platter.

3.  Make rosé your go-to spring wine

The light provincial-style rosé from All Saints Estate is the perfect drink for warm afternoons and balmy evenings. Made from a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, the All Saints Estate Rosa is beautifully refreshing, full of bright fruits with a crisp, dry finish. Enjoy it in its youthful exuberance, with an antipasto platter, lightly spiced Asian food, and fish or chicken dishes. Or, all on its own in an afternoon of laughs with friends.

Order theRose Twin Packonline and enjoy the All Saints Estate Rosa and the St Leonards Vineyard Rose.

4.  Embrace the BBQ for cooking

Take advantage of those warmer longer evenings and fire up the BBQ that we’ve neglected through winter. For a fuss-free entertaining BBQ, we love the Fancy Hanks range of BBQ marinades, salt rubs and sauces, which make grilling easy. Try the Original BBQ Sauce or, for something different to spice up the night, Jalapeno & Peach Hot Sauce. Pair with spring lamb or grilled eggplant. Planning a trip to Rutherglen? We stock all of these items at Indigo Food Co.

5.  Opt for a brunch with besties

Florals for a spring table decor

Creating that perfect floral arrangement for the table sets a welcoming tone. Lilies, peonies and daffodils are all in season, or fill the air with the beautiful scent of some jasmine or lavender. Or better yet, take the stress out of making your own bouquet and leave it to the professionals. Have a chat with Rutherglen Florists to see what they can do for your next occasion.

Food, glorious food

The spread is important, so treat yourself and your guests to some gourmet items rather than the standard supermarket staples. Try Daylesford Condiment Company for some amazing jams (our favourite is Peach & Raspberry!), Milawa Mustards or Walkabout Apiaries honey.

Sparkling O’clock

No brunch is complete without a glass of bubbles! TheNV All Saints Estate Excentrique Sparklingis creamy with green apple and citrus flavours and a dry finish, making it the perfect tipple for brunch with the girls.Â
